For the gamers out there we have a TeamSpeak 3 server that can be used for you to create private/public channels. Download client from https://www.teamspeak.com/en/downloads.html#client and follow the instructions as below:

Under Connections click connect, choose a Nickname of your preference:

Client will connect to our server voice.epicdot.com

You can from here create sub channels and meet up with friends. No need to schedule anything as server is online 24/7

XMPP (also known as Jabber) is the leading open standard for presence and real-time messaging. Since 2004, it's been an approved standard of the IETF (the same organization that standardized email and World Wide Web protocols). A rich set of extensions to the protocol are maintained by the Jabber Software Foundation. Today, XMPP is used by leading companies, millions of users worldwide and is the best choice for open real-time collaboration.

Our own IM tool is based on the above. You can connect using any XMPP compatible client for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. Best client for Windows, Mac and Linux is Spark https://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/index.jsp Download and install latest version of Spark.

If you dont have an account click on Accounts bottom left

Account registration: Choose username, password - domain is epicxe.com and click Create Account

Go back to main screen and type in the username you just created

Click advanced and make sure options are ticked as below and click OK

Back to main screen click on Login and it will connect you online

To join a room or create a room

You can also add contacts (on our IM server)

You can also do video and audio calls but guide for that will be put up later . For Android and iOS clients, you can use any XMPP compatible client. Use default port 5222 and server is epicdot.com. Some clients may lack some features be aware of that.

The Rocket.Chat desktops apps for Windows, macOS and Linux are available to download here. The native mobile app, Rocket.Chat, for Android and iOS is available from Google Play and the App Store. Via any internet browser, visit https://epicxe.com or if you use the Rocket.Chat client, Join workspace server epicxe.com - create username from within the app. For further help, please consult the documentation.

For video conferencing, Rocket.Chat uses the Open Source platform https://jitsi.org/. Video quality when in a group may vary. When initiating video, Rocket.Chat will launch a new window browser tab. Visitors can also install the mobile app for IOS/Android called Jitsi meet.

Remember:

- You can create private channels
- You can invite friends and family/ anyone to start a channel/ video
- You can disable notifications on channels or your mobile client may spam you with alerts
- Moderators may join public channels
- Private channels are not monitored
- This is open source meaning free to use for all

Users typically use headphones with a microphone. Our server can be shared and used with friends for gaming or just for a chat via text or voice.

Openfire is a real time collaboration (RTC) server licensed under the Open Source Apache License. It uses the only widely adopted open protocol for instant messaging, XMPP Openfire is incredibly easy to setup and administer, but offers rock-solid security and performance.

Our server is hosted by EPICXE.com You can download Spark client here https://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/ preference is to install the version that includes JRE. A beta version of the same client can be installed from here https://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/beta.jsp advantage being a more modern theme with additional features.

Most/any XMPP/Jabber client can be used. Use the server address epicxe.com using default port. If you dont want to use the Spark client as above, most other xmpp clients can create user account on the fly as set by the options within the application. Once you have created an account, you can then logon. Username may appear as @epicxe.com - this is fine and only your logon e.g. username@epicxe.com. No email address will be created. Your user details will include your own email address. If you are unable to register a new account via the XMPP client, you can signup here https://epicxe.com:7443/inverse/ then go back to client to logon.

Once you can logon fine, you may then use the video web conferencing module at https://epicxe.com:7443/meet/ You logon with the credentials as used above. For family and friends, this is a good way to stay in touch and keep privacy to yourself. Audio and Video supported.

With the chat application being Spark or other 3rd party XMPP client - you may create your own chat room(s) for public or private communication, invite in family or friends or simply use it in between. Other XMPP clients may have restricted features, bear that in mind.

Our Mumble server address is epicxe.com using default port. Install the Mumble client from https://www.mumble.com/mumble-download.php Supporting voice and chat, it is a great and simple tool to be in touch with family and friends.

When you first connect, system may complain about the certificate. Ignore this and save it/ follow instructions, press yes. The error will not show on future connections. You can register your nick and complete the certificate wizard, which means no passwords needed and system will remember you.
