Gazz Posted November 20, 2011 Report Share Posted November 20, 2011 Many are having probs with mw2 alterIWnet crashing after approx 1 hour.Here is what i did to fix mine. First download the steam_api.dll http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?steam_api Once downloaded goto your installation directory C:/programfiles(x86)/activision/modernwarfare2 and copy and replace the the steam_api.dll with the one you have downloaded. Now delete the bootstrap folder and the cache XML document(DO NOT DELETE THE CACHE FOLDER, MAKE SURE ITS THE XML DOCUMENT THAT YOU DELETE). Now join a server from the server list in the game(not from the ED server connection tool) and get 1 kill or be killed(up to you ). All being well everything should be fine and you can now play without game crashes and use the ED connection tool. http://www.epicdot.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=13 If you still experience crashes then set your in game graphics settings to auto(only change the screen resolution nothing else).
