Forum will be moved from a hosted solution to a stand alone server. Blogs, Gallery, Downloads are to be removed but will come back later. Why? Nothing wrong with the current setup. The only problem with shared hosting is performance and database issues (at times slow). The space allocated by Invision is also pathetic, meaning add some photos in the gallery - and you will fill up the account with space needed for the database. After the change there will be no space limitation and more resources available. Forum should obviously be quicker to load. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Whoops Posted March 17, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 17, 2013 Finally back online. There were some mix-up with the encoded files versus self hosted files. It messed up everything haha. Well, all done now. Also means the forum code can be amended and integrated to other 3rd party systems. Gallery, Downloads, Blogs etc may return later this year should the need arise. I am not a Linux geek so I will probably crash the server instead think speed is acceptable. Gallery, downloads etc as above will return later this year. Not a need to prioritise right now. For some reason my chrome on pc was slow so I thought the site was slow, realised later both tablet and phone loaded the forum fairly quick. Doh my pc needs to be updated.
